PharmaTher Develops 3D Printed Tablets for Colon Drug Delivery
Written with artificial intelligence.

PharmaTher Holdings is introducing a line of 3D printed peptide tablets designed for colon release, targeting gastrointestinal conditions. The initial products include KPV and BPC-157, which comply with new U.S. compounding regulations for certain peptides.
Introduction to PharmaTher's New Products
PharmaTher Holdings is advancing the development of 3D printed peptide medications tailored for a new U.S. compounding pathway. The company is launching its first two products, oral tablets containing the peptides KPV and BPC-157, specifically designed to deliver their therapeutic effects in the colon.
Compliance with New Regulations
This initiative coincides with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) policy permitting qualified Section 503A pharmacies to compound six designated peptides. KPV and BPC-157 are among these peptides, approved for oral use. The policy is set to be published in the Federal Register on October 30, 2026, and establishes guidelines for compounding these substances, including requirements for FDA-registered sources and patient-specific prescriptions.
Innovative Technology
The tablets utilize PharmaTher’s M3DICINES platform and employ a technology called CORR3CT (COntRollable Release in 3D printed Colonic Targeting), developed by Craft Health. This approach aims to ensure that the tablets survive the stomach and release their active ingredients directly in the colon, potentially improving treatment outcomes for conditions like ulcerative colitis, particularly in patients with inflammation in the descending colon.
Future Developments and Market Strategy
PharmaTher is establishing its products in collaboration with PD Labs, a 503A compounding pharmacy, as part of a broader strategy to avoid direct consumer sales. Instead, the company plans to work with healthcare providers and pharmacies to offer these specialized peptide solutions. Future developments may include additional formulations and multi-peptide products that could gain FDA approval.
PharmaTher's focus on targeted drug delivery represents a significant advancement in the pharmaceutical use of 3D printing technology, particularly for complex peptides that require precise administration.
