Formlabs has unveiled the Form Studio 1, marking its most affordable 3D printer launch to date. Priced starting at $699, this printer is touted as the world's most affordable resin 3D printer that maintains professional quality and reliable performance with average print speeds under two hours.
Innovative Technology
The Form Studio 1 features a new print engine utilizing Formlabs' proprietary Low Force Display (LFD) technology, which includes a custom lens array and 28 LEDs. This design provides a uniform light field that cures resin evenly, allowing users to produce highly detailed parts with a smooth finish. The printer supports 35 µm pixel resolution and offers lower peel forces, a flexible build platform with Quick Release Technology, and light-touch supports.
Safety and New Resins
Significantly, the Form Studio 1 is the first resin-based 3D printer to achieve UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification when used with Formlabs Alpha Resins and the Formlabs VOC Extractor add-on, making it suitable for use in small offices and homes. Alongside the printer, Formlabs has also released six new low-odour Alpha Resins, starting at $29 per litre, that are skin-safe and offer vibrant colours, transparency, and crisp details.
Availability
The Form Studio 1 is available for order globally starting today, with shipping commencing on November 16th. Initially offered in 'graphite', early buyers can select from limited edition colours including aqua, teal, and violet until November 30th or while supplies last. The printer is being showcased at the TCT Shenzhen event this week.
