BARVL Launches India's First Robotic 3D Construction Printing Platform with XtreeE
Written with artificial intelligence.

Balaji Anant Raj Ventures Ltd. has partnered with France's XtreeE SAS to introduce a robotic 3D construction printing ecosystem in India. This initiative marks a significant step in the industrial application of this technology, with the system set to be operational at the Astraya Experience Centre in Gurugram by Q2 2027.
Introduction of Advanced 3D Construction Printing in India
Balaji Anant Raj Ventures Ltd. (BARVL) has announced a partnership with XtreeE SAS, a French company, to establish a state-of-the-art robotic 3D construction printing (3DCP) ecosystem in India. This collaboration signifies the first major industrial adoption of 3DCP technology in the country.
Features of the Robotic Printing System
The robotic printing system will be managed under BARVL's knowledge infrastructure platform, Astraya. The agreement entails the supply, commissioning, and technology transfer for XtreeE's robotic construction printing technology, which includes a complete robotic printing cell that can expand to four systems. The core of the system is XtreeE’s proprietary xHEAD, a sophisticated print head integrated with a six-axis industrial robotic arm, enabling large-format printing of complex concrete shapes without traditional formwork.
Knowledge Transfer and Sustainable Practices
Aashman Sarin, Founder of Astraya, emphasized the importance of surrounding knowledge in making this technology impactful. The partnership is designed not only to provide equipment but also to facilitate the transfer of knowledge related to sustainable construction methods. Dominique Corvez, President and CEO of XtreeE, highlighted India’s potential as a hub for construction innovation, stating that the collaboration aims to build local capabilities and a sustainable ecosystem for digital construction.
Future Plans and Operational Goals
The Astraya Experience Centre, located in Sector 63A, Gurugram, is set to begin operations in Q2 2027. This facility will serve as a live demonstration and innovation hub, integrating material testing, robotic production, and applied research. Its goal is to develop a robust knowledge base that informs future projects and trains engineers and researchers in the field. The facility will also initially support residential projects before exploring opportunities in institutional construction.
